Hello, my name is Florene Cook. I
am excited to be your Science and Language Arts teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. This is my
30th year teaching, and I have taught in Villa Rica the entire time. I have
been a BSMS Bobcat since BSMS opened in 1998.
My family includes my husband, Jackie. He
owns Cook and Son Home Builders and Restoration. We have a daughter, Kimberly
Gibson and her family; and a son, Wesley Cook, and his family. My family and I
are all Villa Rica graduates and all still reside in Villa Rica.
We have lots of fun with Toby,
our spoiled Yorkie. My favorite hobby is traveling. My husband is a scuba diver, and I enjoy going on trips with him. One of our more interesting trips was to Key
West, Florida. We also enjoy going on cruises and our favorite cruise was to
Cozumel, Mexico. I also had the opportunity to meet our 39th U.S. President,
Jimmy Carter, who happens to live in Plains, Ga. He is 95 years old and is the
only president who was elected from Georgia.
My Educational Background:
* Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades from the
University of West Ga. in 1991
* Master of Arts in Middle Grades from University
of West Georgia in 1994
* Education Specialist in Middle Grades from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2018
I hope to inspire you to enjoy
language arts and science. This year, I will be teaching online. Please contact
me with any questions and/or concerns you may have during the year:
